Loredana, "Jetzt rufst du an"

Macloud once posted an Instagram story asking producers to send him guitar samples. I could barely play guitar, but sent him a few anyway. He liked them and used some in beats, although none led to a placement.

Later I noticed a vibraphone in Miksu / Macloud's studio. I'd played mallet instruments at Jugend Musiziert, so I thought I'd try sending those samples too. My five-octave Studio 49 marimba was set up in the studio where I worked. I put one mic over it and recorded a loop with a few melodies, all in mono. It took about five minutes.

Months later I heard that the sample was on Loredana's next single. I panicked a bit: it was mono, it sounded small to me, and I wanted to record it again. The song was already in mastering, though, and they kept the original. It runs through the whole track.

The single went gold. I met Loredana at the release party in Berlin and had a good night.
